It is crazy to think that next week is the last week of my internship; it feels like I started yesterday, but I have learned and experienced so much, which I am so grateful for. This week was not that busy, as I did get off for the holiday, but it was still a great time as always. I truly as going to miss working here.
On Tuesday, I met another reporter at the local court for a preliminary hearing that I was supposed to attend last week, but got rescheduled. We went in only to find an empty courtroom; the judge was not there. The hearing got postponed again, which I was very disappointed because I had never covered a hearing of any kind, and it was something I really wanted to do before I finish my internship. I hope it gets scheduled for sometime next week. When we got back to the office, I helped the reporter with a story, calling and interviewing a local ice cream shop owner about the gift cards they are handing out to local law enforcement. I also worked on writing up local court sentence hearings.
Wednesday was another slower day, as I just worked on searching and writing up local court sentence hearings. I did some background research on a potential story idea about something interesting my dad came across. A local girl with Tourette's syndrome makes her own comic about the nervous system condition and also has a cooking blog.
