Second story in PublicSource

This week was week 10 at my internship with PublicSource: two-thirds of the way there. It was a pretty simple week, so let's get right into it.

On Tuesday, I started my day at the office by checking in with a few emails I got over the weekend, typing up some interview notes from last week and writing a rough draft of my part on the background information about Kayden's Law for the family court story I am working on with a freelancer. I also connected with a current Pittsburgh Media Partnership intern to start outlining a story pitch our editors gave us, which is how local community organizations are addressing the recent rise in Islamophobia and antisemitism amid the war Israel-Hamas war.

Thursday my story on the new fertility clinic coming to the area was published. I fact-checked a story on Bakery Square development updates. I also finally had an interview with a state senator on the state of Kayden's Law to wrap up the background information for the courts story. At our lunch and learn and intern meeting, we discussed social media practices and writing copy for SEO, which made me realize I need to really focus on my professional social media accounts and start growing an online following as I enter the job market.

Here is my story that was published this week:
